TRIBES YOUTH PROJECT JOINS FORCES WITH THE Haven House - Second Round Youth Center Arts Program in Raleigh, NC.\\

In May 2007, TRIBES YOUT PROJECT kicks off in North Carolina! TYP is now currently recruiting seasoned NC indie artists to volunteer their time with Raleigh youth. Volunteers needed to help youth sharpen their talents. TRIBES Magazine is also donating 10% of all corporate advertising income towards TYPs new partner, the Haven House - Second Round Youth Center Arts Program in Raleigh, NC.

Haven House is a private, non-profit agency that serves the needs of young people in difficult situations - from homelessness to running away to family, school or life problems. Haven House's Second Round Youth Center provides a safe space for youth 16-21 (85% African-American). Second Round Youth Center offers street outreach, a structured day program, educational services, residential services, boxing classes, counseling, food and with your support -- an Arts Program! The New Arts Program will encourage youth to transcend cultural barriers through music, dance, visual art, and creative writing. The progam will emphasize self disipline and teamwork. TRIBES Youth Project (TYP) funds raised will go towards arts and crafts materials, instruments, DJ Equipment, food, future youth events and other related items. TRIBES YOUTH PROJECT (TYP) is one of the many ways TRIBES aims to give back to the urban community and its youth.

TYP is designed to encourage youth to explore their creative talents. By connecting urban youth - often from troubled backgrounds - with our seasoned independent artists --from all artistic mediums (who would volunteer their time to TYP), youth can explore their passions and sharpen their talents.

Whether youth aspire to play a musical instrument, learn to sing, dance, write, paint, shoot photos, etc...through TYP, youth will have access to seasoned artists and the tools needed for them to build, improve and thrive. This will be a summer program held in local urban community centers. TYP will produce annual events that will showcase the young artists' works.
